What nutritional value do oat straw have?

Preparations from young oat shoots are obtained by using the green part of the plant growing from germinating seeds. It is a source of substances other than oat seeds (grains), used, for example, to prepare the popular oatmeal, which is very beneficial for the circulatory system. Young oat shoots contain natural chemical compounds that have a beneficial effect on brain function and help adapt to emotional stress. They are a rich source of terpene compounds such as triterpene saponins (avenacins) specific to this type of plant that are considered to have an anti-anxiety and mood-improving effect [3]. This happens, among others, through the inhibitory effect on MAO-B [2]. Young oat shoots are also a rich source of phenolic acids and polyphenols, the latter of which include flavonoids and avenanthramides (a group of atypical phenolic amides specific to this type of plant). These natural chemicals are thought to increase cerebral vascular flow (by increasing nitric oxide) and have anti- inflammatory effects (by inhibiting anti-inflammatory cytokines). All these activities have a positive effect on the body's adaptation to mental stress.

Health benefits of oat straw preparations:

Several clinical studies of oat straw preparations show its obvious health benefits for the functioning of the central nervous system and adaptation to emotional stress. Natural chemical compounds specific to young oat shoots contain substances that improve circulation in the blood vessels of the brain and have a beneficial effect on neurotransmitters (chemical substances normally found in the brain). The group of middle-aged people tested while ingesting oat straw supplement showed immediate improvement in cognitive abilities [1,2,3]. This was an improvement in brain function, which could, for example, have a positive impact on preparation for the exam and improve its results. Another clinical study of older adults administered the drug over a longer period of time and demonstrated its long-term benefits. They consisted of improving memory, the ability to learn new things and improving the tolerance of emotional stress [3]. In folk medicine, young oat shoots have been used for a very long time as an anti-anxiety agent, mood-improving agent and improving sleep quality [4,5]. In addition to improving mental performance, they were used for general strengthening, improving energy, adaptation to physical exercise and improving the appearance of the skin [5].

Why stresstraw?

Preparations from young oat shoots can have a very beneficial effect on health due to their effects on improving mental performance, sleep quality and regulating mood. The technological method of obtaining our highest quality supplement and the organic source of the raw material guarantee the highest content of biologically active substances.
